The complete poems of Endre Ady – book cover and spreads. The motives of death, longing for death, suffering, and pain are carried through the poetry of Endre Ady. Some of his most prominent characteristics are pessimism, showcasing morbid human traits, and the tragic fate of Hungarians. As a whole, passive rejection is the main element of his works. My goal was to reflect on these somber feelings both on the outside and inside of the book. The cover is in contrast with the simple, yet classic red endsheets. The image and the typographic elements displayed on the inside reinforce the ever so present lethargic feel of Ady’s poetry.
